Tuesday November 03, 2009 16:05:30 EST
Network Equipment Technologies, Inc. ("NET") (NASDAQ:NWK), a leader in network and VOIP solutions, and emFAST Inc., a pioneer in network fax messaging, today announced a teaming agreement and the successful completion of interoperability testing of NET's VX Series running "One Number Fax" with emFAST's FACSys server. This combination provides a comprehensive unified messaging solution, including fax delivery, for Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 and Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 users.
NET's VX Series switches offer a "One Number Fax" solution to deliver the true vision of a single, unified phone number with automated fax delivery. The "One Number Fax" solution detects and separates voice and fax calls by CNG (fax tone) detection and automatically routes the calls to the proper destination without ever ringing the phone when faxes are delivered. Faxes are delivered directly to Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 Unified Messaging, Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 Unified Messaging, or to the FACSys Fax server to help organizations round out their unified messaging implementations and save costs.
The combined solution of NET's VX Series and emFAST's FACSys server enhances Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 Unified Messaging and Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 Unified Messaging, giving users the ability to manage not only their e-mail, voice mail, text and instant messaging, but also to manage fax messages from a single mailbox.
The solution complements and extends Microsoft Exchange Server's messaging capabilities with the following benefits:
-- Enables the sending and receiving of faxes from Microsoft Office
applications, helping boost employee productivity.
-- Reduces capital and operational expenses of procuring and managing fax
machines.
-- Increases security and ensures regulatory compliance by having an
audit trail of fax messages.
-- Integrates fax with various multi-function peripherals such as those
from HP, Xerox, Sharp, Ricoh, and Canon.
-- Integrates fax services with enterprise resource planning, customer
relationship management, and other line-of-business applications.
NET's VX Series is a fully integrated multi-service voice switch that provides high-performance VoIP communications for enterprise Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 R2 deployments, interoperating with leading PBX and IP-PBX vendor protocols while offering rapid deployment, ease of installation, and low maintenance. The VX Series provides additional value to Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 R2 enterprise voice customers by reducing the total number of servers that need to be deployed in the network and reducing the operational and capital costs of deployment.
The VX Series provides branch offices with several key features, including: native DSP support for Microsoft RT-audio; support for meshed, high availability Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 R2 networks; end to end Quality of Experience (QoE) monitoring; secure, line speed SRTP and TLS encryption; and automatic codec selection for improved audio quality.
